Joel retired from AT&T after 36 years of service.  At the time of his retirement, Joel was the Executive responsible for AT&T’s Quality Management System Center for Excellence (QMS-COE) where he and his team delivered over $2B in financial benefits while keeping the quality and process improvement program focused on customers.  The ultimate mission of his organization was to drive a deeper ‘customer first’ culture across AT&T by creating a common quality management framework, providing expert guidance, and building a sustainable Quality infrastructure.  

Shortly after retirement, Joel joined OpusWorks as an Advisory Board Member.  In January of 2017, Joel became the OpusWorks Chief Strategy Officer with a primary responsibility for the OpusWorks product roadmap, product development, and product delivery through OpusWorks Institute.

Joel has a passion of continuous process improvement, business excellence and creating a culture of problem solving through an organization, but especially at the ground floor.  

Joel is a graduate of the Texas Tech University where he earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering. He and his wife, Toni, currently reside in Corsicana, Texas and are proud parents of four terrific children, three sons and one daughter, three wonderful daughters-in-law, and five grandchildren.
